Intramural Sports

The Intramural Sports Program at the University of Mount Olive is designed to offer a number of popular sports and activities for students, faculty, and staff. The purpose is for participation. More specifically, the program provides an outlet for athletic interests.

 

The Intramural Sports Program at UMO seeks to provide an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to be involved in organized physical activity and positive use of leisure time. A variety of activities are provided for members of the UMO Students, Faculty and Staff. The intramural program provides both competitive and recreational alternatives. Opportunities for individuals to compete with others, to work with others, to socialize, and to improve participant’s health and physical fitness are each important components of the Intramural Sports Program. No additional fees to participate! All participants must have a current UMO ID Card to participate.

The Intramural Sports Program offers a wide variety of leagues that will consist of a regular season with weekly games, followed by a single elimination playoff. Examples of the leagues offered includes:
  • Fall Leagues
    • 3-on-3 Basketball
    • 3-on-3 Beach Volleyball
    • Flag Football
  • Spring Leagues
    • 4-on-4 Beach Volleyball
    • 5-on-5 Beach Volleyabll
    • Indoor Soccer

The Intramural Sports Program offers one-day tournament competitions as a means to meet the need for competition outside of Intramural league competition. Examples of one-day tournaments includes:

  • Badminton
  • Disc Golf
  • Dodgeball
  • Doubles Tennis
  • Racquetball
  • Wiffleball
  • Kickball
  • 4v4 Outdoor Basketball
